Vice President Dr. Dauke

Vice President of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, Dr. Uta Dauke

Dr. Uta Dauke has been the Vice President of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees since 23 May 2016. She works from her office in Berlin.

Having graduated in law and acquired her doctorate at the University of Bonn, she first worked for a year at the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution, before transferring to the Federal Ministry of the Interior in 1989.
Dr. Uta Dauke worked in a variety of fields at the Ministry, initially in the Organisation and Budget division, and later served as the Ministry’s Data Protection Officer from 2004 to 2008. She was also responsible for coordinating the implementation of the Freedom of Information Act in the Ministry as a whole.

She then spent two years as head of the division for “Better regulation; bureaucracy reduction; standard costs model; service centres” and four years as the head of the “Administrative organisation, administrative modernisation, international cooperation in administrative matters” policy division, before becoming the head of the Ministry’s Organisation division at the end of 2014.

Dr. Uta Dauke was born in Cologne in 1958. She is married with a daughter.
