Acceptance procedure for Jewish immigrants
The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) is responsible for the acceptance procedure for Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union.
Jewish immigrants make their applications for acceptance in Germany in the German representations abroad in their countries of origin. Once the applications have been checked for completeness, and the authenticity of the documents has been verified, applications are forwarded to the Federal Office. The BAMF checks if the acceptance conditions have been met and decides if an applicant can be accepted or must be rejected. The BAMF sends the decision to the representation abroad responsible.
