Office of the German Islam Conference
Since the founding in 2006 of the Committee for Dialogue between the State and Muslims by the then Minister of the Interior, Dr Wolfgang Schäuble, the German Islam Conference (DIK) office has been located at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF).
Representatives of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees take part in the meetings of the DIK Preparatory Committee and project groups. The management of the project group for training staff holding a religious office has also been transferred to the BAMF. The office of the DIK assists the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) in relation to specialist issues and organisational matters.
The German Islam Conference’s website
The website www.deutsche-islam-konferenz.de of the DIK forms a focus for its public relations work. The website’s content contributes to greater transparency and the broader impact of the work of the German Islam Conference and, through background reports, provides information about Muslim life in Germany. Department 312 at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees produces the content of the DIK website and works closely with the relevant specialist department in the BMI.
