Project support
The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees' (BAMF) project support promotes needs-based projects and other social integration projects necessitated by the respective local conditions. In doing so, it supplements and supports other integration projects that take place in the immediate surrounding area.
Building on talent and skills
The projects supported by the BAMF underpin the integration of immigrants in the local community and strengthen their participation in their immediate area. These are resource-based integration measures that build on the immigrants’ own talents, skills and qualifications. As a result, the programmes increase a feeling of self-worth and confidence in one’s own skills and help to improve acceptance in society.
Pilot projects
The BAMF initiates and supports pilot projects that help to acquire knowledge on the development or testing of methods and ideas in integration work.
Multipliers’ training
The BAMF is increasing the scope of its support for multipliers’ seminars – in particular the training of volunteers and with a view to making immigrant organisations more professional. To achieve this, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees wants to strengthen the skills of the multipliers involved, and, in the first instance, of volunteer immigrants.

- local authorities
- institutions that are active in working with immigrants at a national, regional or local level.
