Studies

The staff of the EMN’s National Contact Point draw up regular studies on the topics which are relevant to national and European policy-making, both in the long and short term.

National studies

In order to do justice to its obligation to provide information vis-à-vis the political arena and the public, the EMN drafts studies on particular issues that are relevant to migration and asylum and which are needed in order to provide support in policy-making. The themes are proposed by the National Contact Points or by the Commission, and are selected by their relevance for the Member States and the Commission. The themes include both studies carried out over longer periods, and those which cover shorter periods where information is required at short notice.

EU-wide synthesis reports

In line with joint stipulations which guarantee that the national studies are comparable, each National EMN Contact Point draws up a contribution. Existing data and information are primarily analysed for this purpose. The European Commission then drafts a comparative synthesis report on the basis of the individual studies, which presents the main results of the national studies and the European perspective.

EMN Informs

In order to provide information quickly, the “EMN Informs” are also drawn up. Based on reports, studies and Ad-Hoc Queries, these brief reports summarise the information that is available on a specific topic in order to provide enquirers with the essential facts quickly.

The studies are listed in chronological order. You can access the appropriate synthesis reports and Informs by going to the respective topic.
