Programme for foreign nationals – funding from the BMI

In addition to the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees, the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI) also supports projects for foreign nationals. The BMI directly selects projects that produce a clear message, a particularly wide-ranging effect and targeted public relations work. In particular, migrant organisations are encouraged to carry out relevant projects.

The subject areas covered are as follows:

  • skill-building for integration multipliers
  • strengthening understanding of democracy, preventing fundamentalism
  • effective public relations work in conveying the Federal Government’s integration policy
  • combating segregation (creating ghettos, parallel societies)
  • strengthening the (political) participation of immigrants.

  • name of applicant
  • name of any cooperation partners
  • current situation, with project location(s) and informative description of the situation
  • target group
  • project objectives
  • project content
  • sustainability
  • financing

The Ministry will make a decision concerning the basic support; the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees will manage and develop these projects. Applications from branches of associations must be submitted via the relevant federal association.
