Programmes for ethnic German resettlers
The Federal Office for Migration and Refugees funds the "Identity and Integration PLUS" programme in accordance with sec. 9, subs. 4 of the Federal Expellees Act (BVFG). It builds on the integration course and above all deals with the specific situations and needs of ethnic German resettlers.
200 lessons and individual subjects
Ethnic German resettlers aged 16 and above have been allowed to attend the "Identity and Integration PLUS" courses since 2006. The course comprises 200 lessons. In addition to some specified subjects, course providers can adapt other selected topics to suit the group of attendees.
Family members can attend the courses if they immigrated with an ethnic German resettler and in accordance with the Residence Act (sec. 8 subs. 2 of the BVFG). The intention is to make integration easier through the family unit. The number of attendees per course is between 12 and 20.
Programme content
Ethnic German resettlers will look at various topics, including
- issues surrounding their specific identity
- problems and opportunities in tackling everyday life in their new environment
- education system issues in Germany
- possibilities and opportunities in the German labour market including routes into self-employment.

Where should I send the application to?

For legal reasons only the hard copy of the application is binding. Therefore, please print out the pdf document generated by the system and send the legally binding, signed application together with all additional documentation to the following address:
