Seminar measures for integrating foreign women
Many immigrant women speak only a little German. One possible reason for this is that they have so far dedicated their lives to their family and have therefore not had an opportunity to learn German. Another reason is that they might only recently have arrived in Germany as part of the family's move. In order to support their integration, the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees finances special seminar measures for foreign women and girls and particularly for Muslims.

Target group for seminar measures for women
Foreign women who have not had the opportunity to learn sufficient German or who have only recently arrived in Germany.
Characteristics of content
The women's courses focus on everyday matters and women's living situations. They consist of elements of an easy-access language support programme and practical programmes. The aim is to introduce women to social situations in Germany.
The women's courses are considered to be easy access because they are carried out locally in a safe area and in familiar place (e.g. kindergarten or school). The everyday course content does not presuppose any prior knowledge. The committed course leaders, who are female, often come from an immigrant background themselves and take the women's individual needs into account.
Aims
The aims of the easy-access women's courses are:
- to improve their self-confidence,
- to support them in issues related to raising children,
- to overcome their fear of the unknown
- to direct them to further integration programmes (e.g. integration courses).
In accordance with the objectives of the national integration programme, further topics are “Children's language development and language acquistion from parents” and “The role of women, prevention of violence, in particular protection from domestic violence”.

Eligible to attend are:
