Programmes for migrant organisations to gain further qualifications

Migrant organisations play an important role in the integration process as they combine involvement, immigration experience and skills in integration work at a local level and often can better reach people with an immigrant background. It is therefore the aim of the Federal Office to give greater and appropriate support to migrant organisations and their projects.

The Federal Office is offering funding for one or more days' training for multipliers during 2011 in order to support migrant organisations which themselves would like to implement integration training measures and which need to gain the qualifications and professional capacity to do so.

Migrant organisations, and also other organisations that would like to implement relevant training sessions for migrant organisations, are invited to submit applications for multipliers' training using the easy.aza software by 20 September 2011 at the latest.

Applications arriving after this date cannot be included in the selection process.

Objectives and content of the support

Multiplier training sessions aim to offer the opportunity to migrant organisations as providers of integration programmes to upgrade their professional and further qualifications. They should therefore be organised according to the needs of these organisations and according to the time and finances available to these organisations. The content could include, for example:

  • management of the club
  • motivating committed members
  • personal development for volunteers
  • project management
  • accountancy
  • press and PR work
  • fundraising

Framework conditions

The multiplier training sessions requested may only be implemented and funded in 2011. It is not possible to carry them over to 2012. Similarly, training measures that run into another year cannot be supported.

A grant of up to 10,000 euros can be made to fund the selected multiplier training sessions, as necessitated by the content and scope of the measure. Depending on the training providers' financial means, their own funds or funds from third parties may be contributed. The Federal Office takes into consideration that migrant organisations and smaller volunteer-run organisations are usually not in a position to contribute high levels of their own funds.

Application process

Applications are to be made to the Federal Office by the stated deadline using the German easy.aza software.
