Ethnic German resettlers

Ethnic German resttlers, their spouses and children are entitled to attend an integration course once free of charge if they arrived in Germany after 1 January 2005. This is regulated in § 9, section 1 of the Federal Expellees Act (BVFG). The entitlement to attend is issued on entering the Federal Republic by the Federal Office of Administration.

Costs

The costs for the final tests are also paid by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees in accordance with § 17, para. 3 sentence 1 of the Ordinance on Integration Courses (IntV). Under certain conditions, an allowance for necessary travel expenses will be granted on application.

Exceptions from the general entitlement to attend a course

Children, young people and young adults who attend school or who are continuing their school career in Germany are excluded from the general entitlement to attend the course.
