Continuing vocational education

Continuing vocational education is very important in Germany.

It is necessary in many professions to take further courses and to acquire new qualifications after undergoing training.

Hervorhebung_Quelle: Opportunities for further education:

  • courses and seminars
  • retraining programmes
  • courses (distance learning and virtual learning)
  • e-learning

The Federal Employment Agency is an important contact for issues concerning your continuing vocational education.

You can also obtain information and advice on vocational integration and continuing training from the promotional programme entitled "Integration through Skill-building" ("Integration durch Qualifizierung" - IQ).

Employers also often offer further training. If you would like to attend further training courses, you should speak to your employer.

German for professional purposes

If you would like to improve your German language skills for work, then the German courses for professional purposes that are funded by the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees will be of interest to you. These courses are aimed at people with a migration background who are looking for work or who would like to advance in their careers. They combine language tuition, professional qualifications and practical exercises.

Wichtige Mitteilung

There have been several occasions very recently in which people have pretended to be employees of the Federal Office and asked for an interview at which they questioned asylum applicants intensively. This took place in some cases on the pretext that a second hearing was allegedly needed. Important: The Federal Office does not conduct home visits! These individuals do not work for the Federal Office. The Federal Office has therefore filed criminal charges. If something similar happens to you, or if you observe anything of this nature as a carer, please report this to your local police station.
