The values enshrined in the Basic Law form the basis for co-existence. Each citizen is able to choose his or her religion freely, be actively involved in shaping the community and take part in political life.
Every citizen can be involved in political life in Germany and influence policies, be it at local level, in the Federal Länder or at Federal level.
