Conference information: Digital Solutions for Refugees 2017

Date 21 December 2017
type report

On 27 June 2017 the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF) organised with its cooperation partners, the Federal Ministry of the Interior (BMI), betterplace lab, Initiative D21 and openTransfer, the second Conference on Digital Solutions for Refugees in Berlin. Approximately 150 attendees including presenters, project funding institu-tions, volunteers, established institutions and refugees came together to discuss the above questions.

They took the opportunity to network in order to advance digital work with refugees together. Large numbers of established projects, as well as new ones from the areas of language promotion, information, initial orientation, education, work and training, introduced themselves during the eight breakout sessions that were held in the afternoon. In order to reduce language barriers, the conference was held in three languages: German, English and Arabic.

This information in three languages brings together the most important results, as well as exploring in greater detail selected aspects of the interviews. Profiles provide an insight into all the projects that were presented at the Conference. Statements by the attendees reflect their experiences, perspectives and thoughts on the topics put forward at the Conference.
