On 28.08.2007, a law governing the implementation of various European Union directives relating to immigration and asylum, including the so-called Researcher Directive, came into force and became part of domestic legislation in the Federal Republic of Germany.
The flyer presented here provides information on entry and residency requirements for researchers from non-EU countries.
The accreditation procedure for research institutions is carried out by the German Federal Office for Migration and Refugees. It is part of a three-step procedure for obtaining residence permits specifically tailored for researchers from non-EU countries, who wish to come to Germany for research periods exceeding three months.
