The Integration Internet portal
A further Internet page of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees has been available to Internet users in German and English since 14 June 2007. The Integration Internet portal sees itself as a central information platform on the topic of integration.
The portal is designed to appeal equally to immigrants, interested citizens and stakeholders of integration work and to provide to each target group the precise information which they need. In order to meet these requirements, there are three entrances to the portal on the homepage of the integration website – one for each target group.
Thanks to the simple navigation structure, Internet beginners will also quickly find their way around. An additional aid for orientation is provided by the various colours of the individual sections within the portal.
Furthermore, there is a web-based information system available for the integration area (Web-GIS). With the aid of Web-GIS, users can search for contact and advice agencies of integration work, as well as initial migration advice centres, integration courses, integration projects, immigration authorities, regional agencies of the Federal Office and regional coordinators. The expanded search also provides details on course planning and many more.
The portal appears in German and English. The section for immigrants has also been translated into Russian and Turkish.
