Screen resolution and browser compatibility
The website is optimised for a screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels and newer-version browsers. The site uses JavaScript. JavaScript is integrated as a fixed element of the current browser versions. No Java Applets have been used. You can also use parts of this website if you have deactivated the use of JavaScript and Java Applets in the security settings. Some functions and navigation mechanisms are however restricted when JavaScript is disabled.
Accessibility
This website was created according to the guidelines of the Ordinance on Barrier-Free Information Technology in accordance with the Equal Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities Act (Verordnung zur Schaffung barrierefreier Informationstechnik nach dem Behindertengleichstellungsgesetz – BITV).
Navigation options
The pages are structured uniformly, and the navigation and content are divided into separate areas. The structure is divided by headings.
Sitemap
The sitemap shows you the basic structure of the www.bamf.de site. You can click on the respective links to go directly to the page that you would like to visit.
Changing the font size
You can configure the font size individually in the browser according to your viewing habits. In Internet Explorer, click on the menu item "View", then "Text size" and select an option. In Firefox, you can click on the menu item "View", then "Zoom", and you can change the font size with "Zoom In" or "Zoom Out".
Changing the language
Words contained in the site’s German-language version that are not listed in Duden's "Deutsches Universalwörterbuch" are provided with a corresponding language mark. This enables for example a reading program to select the correct pronunciation.
PDF documents
You need a pdf reader to be able to read documents in Portable Document Format (PDF).
We have been offering barrier-free PDFs since May 2009. All barrier-free PDFs are marked with a note (barrier-free). Please feel free to contact us if you would like an older PDF document or publication to be barrier-free (please quote: Barrier-free PDF).
A small number of documents are not barrier-free for a variety of reasons, such as because their content changes on a weekly basis, because they are in an unsupported foreign language, or because they contain very extensive statistical data and tables. These are marked accordingly.
