The tasks of the Commissioners employed at the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees include: equality between women and men, the compatibility of work and family, protecting people from sexual harassment, compliance with data protection regulations, confidentiality, prevention of corruption, as well as the security of information technology at the Federal Office.

The Commissioner for Equality

The Commissioner for Equality is the tasked with promoting and monitoring the implementation of the Federal Equality Act (Bundesgleichstellungsgesetz) and of the General Equal Treatment Act (Allgemeines Gleichbehandlungsgesetz) with regard to protection against discrimination on grounds of gender, and sexual harrassment at the workplace. She collaborates on all personnel-related, organisational and social measures in her department that affect the equality of women and men, the reconciliation of family and work, as well as protection from sexual harassment at the workplace.

The Data Protection Officer

The authority's Data Protection Officer (Art. 37-39 GDPR) is concerned with compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation and with other regulations concerning data protection.

The Anti-corruption Commissioner

The Anti-corruption Commissioner is a contact person for the prevention of corruption in accordance with No. 5 of the Guidelines issued by the Federal Government for Preventing Corruption in the Federal Government dated 30 July 2004.

The Confidentiality Protection Commissioner

The Confidentiality Protection Commissioner draws up measures and makes decisions based on the Security Screening Act (Sicherheitsüberprüfungsgesetz) and the Instruction for Classified Material.

The Commissioner for Security of Information

The Commissioner for Security of Information is responsible for the security of the information technology used in the Federal Office. He coordinates the drafting of the IT security concept, and monitors its implementation.
