Employment without recognised qualifications (so-called Western Balkans arrangement)

Citizens from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Northern Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia can obtain a residence permit for employment without a recognised qualification. The most important prerequisite for the issuing of this visa is the presentation of a concrete job offer or an employment contract.

Short-term quota-based employment

Foreign employees can obtain a visa for short-term employment for up to eight months with the approval of the Federal Employment Agency. The content and conditions are determined by the Federal Employment Agency. This arrangement gives employers the opportunity to hire additional foreign workers to cover shortages during peak periods.
