Vhs-Lernportal

In vhs-Lernportal you will find online German courses at different levels from A1 to B2. The courses are suitable for self-study. All learners are accompanied by an online tutor who corrects their tasks, gives feedback, gives individual advice and motivates. The learning portal requires no previous knowledge: It is optimized for use on smartphones and can also be used via an app if there is temporarily no internet connection. The menu navigation and user interface have been translated into 18 languages. The use is free of charge. Vhs-Lernportal is funded by the Federal Ministery of Education and Research.

Beginners from A1 onwards make rapid progress with the online German course called “Nicos Weg” (Nico’s Way). A video series and many interactive exercises convey the learning content in an entertaining and practical way. Users accompany Nico in his everyday life, experience the challenges of his new home with him, and of course learn a lot of German. The mobile course is suitable for tablets and smartphones, and is available in many source languages.

The Language Portal of the Austrian Integration Fund (ÖIF)

The ÖIF Language Portal (Sprachportal) provides various options to complement German language courses: e.g. online exercises that can be implemented in a course or used independently at home, learning stories, podcasts and videos. Learning opportunities range from general language offers to work-related ones. That includes live online classes that learners can attend in a flexible manner without registration.
