EMN Inform: Temporary and Circular Migration , Date: 2011.12.01, format: report, area: Authority

This EMN Inform provides a short overview of the main results of the study "Temporary and Circular Migration" with contributions from 24 EU member states.

These forms of migration can - among others - provide short-term workers for receiving countries and may prevent brain drain.

It is advised to implement targeted programmes or encourage spontanious migration. In addition states can raise awareness as well as promote an exchange of experiences and best practices. Also harmonising key concepts and improving data collection as well as common "principles" for Temporary and Circular Migration are recommended.
