Annual Report on Immigration and Asylum 2014 ,
The report describes developments in the EU and its Member States in the area of asylum and immigration policies in 2014. The structure of the report resembles the various dimensions of asylum and migration policies. The first section analyzes the progress in the creation of the Common European Asylum System; after this the report describes the Member States’ measures relating to unaccompanied minors and other vulnerable groups. Furthermore, developments in the areas of legal migration and integration are reported. Finally, the aspects of external EU-borders, irregular migration and return as well as actions addressing trafficking in human beings are the subjects of the report’s final chapters. In addition, a Statistical Annex to the Annual Report on Immigration and Asylum adds quantitative information to the above mentioned policy areas.
The report is based on contributions by the National Contact Points for the EMN. The Annual Report on Immigration and Asylum is complemented by the national Policy Report, which is compiled by the NCPs and which documents in detail the developments in the respective Member States. The Policy Report 2014 by the German NCP will published shortly on the webpage of the Federal Office for Migration and Refugees.
