Working Paper 7 portrays the discussion on uniform school clothing in Germany, which was the subject of increased debate in the summer of 2006. In particular, attention is fixed on the various points of view from the political arena, associations, the media and the academic sphere. Projects in school are presented with standard school clothing in Germany, and examples from countries with school uniforms are explained. An evaluation of the debate concludes the documentation. Specific attention is paid here to the question of the degree to which school clothing can help towards the integration of school pupils with a migration background.
