The chart shows the three central players in schematic form, i.e. the issuers, the asylum seeker or applicant, as well as the verifiers and their activities in the blockchain solution for digital certificates in the asylum procedure. The process is initiated by the asylum seeker or applicant. If this individual needs a certificate, it is issued by the issuing authorities (such as the BAMF, the immigration authority [ABH] or the Federal Police [BPol]). The asylum seeker or applicant can then show this certificate to the verifying authorities (which for instance may also be the BAMF, the immigration authority or the Federal Police). The authorities involved, and any other organisations where appropriate, are connected via the blockchain network for both activities, the revocation of certificates, and the verification of the validity of certificates, as well as the identity of the asylum seeker or applicant.
