Regarding our tasks we differentiate eight areas: 1) Asylum and Refugee Protection: We decide on asylum applications and conduct Dublin procedures. 2) Integration: We design, organise, promote and supervise integration activities and projects, as well as integration and vocational language courses. 3) Migration: We provide information on legal channels for migration, and manage national contact points for immigrants. 4) Voluntary return: We develop programmes and structures to promote voluntary return, as well as networking advice centres and implementing organisations. 5) International tasks: We work with international institutions on the harmonisation of the European asylum system, and take care of the humanitarian reception and resettlement of vulnerable individuals. 6) Security: We work together with security authorities, and regularly exchange information with them. 7) Research: We conduct numerous research projects on migration, integration and asylum at the BAMF Research Centre. 8) Management & IT: We deal with all topic from human resources management and development to organisational planning and legal issues. Our IT play a pioneering role in the context of digitalisiation.
